About the practice
You deal with one solicitor, and the fees are published. You speak to the person who does the work.
Who runs the practice
Un-Ai Jo is the principal of WeDo Legal and the solicitor you speak to. She has been acting for tenants in the tribunal since 2012, at the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal and then NCAT, first as a tenants advocate with the Tenants Advice and Advocacy Services funded by NSW Fair Trading, and was admitted to practise in New South Wales in 2015. She then worked in-house. First at HammondCare, a not-for-profit provider of aged care, dementia care and palliative care, then as Senior Legal Counsel at Business NSW, the independent not-for-profit organisation that represents business across the state alongside more than two hundred local chambers of commerce.
That in-house work is where the practice of confirming scope and price in writing comes from.
The practice covers health and aged care, and the commercial work a business needs — a lease, an employee leaving badly, a contract someone has sent you, an invoice nobody will pay.
She practises in English and Korean. If Korean is the language you would rather explain this in, you explain it once, to the solicitor, and not through an interpreter.
Why the fees are published
Our prices are published so you know the cost before you ring. If a matter takes longer than the published figure, we absorb the difference.
It also means telling you when you do not need a solicitor. Several of the problems people ring about are better dealt with by NCAT, Fair Work, Fair Trading or a community legal centre, at no cost. You will be told that on the first call.
How the practice works
The person who answers is the person who reads your documents and does the work, and the published fee is confirmed in writing before anything starts.
WeDo Legal is an incorporated legal practice based in Sydney Olympic Park. Meetings are by appointment, at your place or ours.
Liability limited by a scheme approved under Professional Standards Legislation. The practice is not an accredited specialist practice and does not hold itself out as one.
